About Us

The Marina Industries Association (MIA) is the peak industry body in Australia for the owners,managers and operators of marinas, slipways, boatyards, berthing, mooring and other marine storage facilities and sailing and cruising boating clubs.

Over 85% of the major Australian marinas are members of MIA. The MIA is attracting a growing number of members from overseas, including New Zealand, Asia and the Middle East. Membership has grown on average 8% pa for the past three years.

MIA’s mission is to contribute to the sustainable development of the industry through the promotion of marinas and the provision of education, environmental accreditation and research programs and policies. This is done in conjunction with the Global Marina Institute and the State Boating Industry Associations.
