The Marine Workshop and Service Managers program is offered by the Marina Industries Association of Australia (MIAA) in partnership with the International Marina Institute (IMI).
This program provides management training for individuals currently working in, or working toward, a leadership role in the field of marine service/repairs. It offers marine service centres and boatyards up-to-date service and repair related material.
The program was first offered by American Boat Builders and Repairers Association (ABBRA) and is based on IMI’s Intermediate and Advanced courses.
Expert instructors provide participants with pointers in such non-technical topics as human-resource development, financial controls, customer relations, project management, job estimating, warranty insurance work, marketing and sales, and more. The program is designed specifically for marine service and repair managers
Through discussion, debate and the sharing of ideas and information, those who take this course broaden their knowledge and improve practices to return to their service centres with new perspectives and fresh approaches to management. And not to be under-rated is the establishment of a long-lasting network of contacts in the industry.
