The biennial Club Marine Marina of the Year Awards recognise excellence and leadership in our industry and provides important benchmarks for industry and the wider community. More awards will enable more businesses in the marina industries to benefit from awards and the awards process.

The next Awards will be the 2017-2018 Marina of the Year Awards and entries will open on September 1, 2016.

Multiple award categories are open for entry to all sectors of the industry- marinas, yacht clubs, public boat harbours, dry stack facilities, service and supply companies as well as marina people, In addition there is also a category for international marina members as well as best marina restaurant.

Entry forms and Award Category criteria will be available online and all submissions are supplied electronically in pdf format to the MIA - a streamlined system designed to make the process easier for busy marina managers, facility operators and other members. Entries typically require a maximum of one [1] page per question and consist of an average of wight (8) questions per category.

The strongly contested and popular 'Marina Employee of the Year' award is conducted via an online voting system which takes a couple of seconds to complete and attracts hundreds of entries.

The benefits of entry are significant. There is extensive publicity and a two year marketing opportunity for winners and finalists. Trophies and exclusive use of logos are benefits in some categories and all winners are presented with a framed award certificate, coinciding with the biennial International Conference and Exhibition, the next being marine17. For all entrants the process can be rewarding through taking time to reflect on achievements and to document the measurable outcomes of these achievements.

The awards are judged by an industry panel with representation from the Boating Industry Association, other industry groups as well as the principal awards sponsor, Club Marine. Finalists in the major categories are site audited prior to the judging panels' final deliberations.

Full details of the 2017-18 Marina of the Year Awards, including the entry and specific category application forms, will be available from September 1, 2016 on the MIA website or call the MIA. All details will be published in Waterline magazine and via eNews to members and industry contacts.

Award entrants will be encouraged to attend marine17 and specifically the marine17 Awards Dinner/Welcome Function where the awards will be announced and presented.
