The MIAA develops and promotes many programs and incentives to help better marinas nationally and reduce the impact of marinas on the environment. Information about our programs follows.
Climate change is emerging as an issue of great significance to the marina industry. Increased coastal rainfall activity, rising sea levels, and increased cyclone and storm intensity are potentially damaging to our marine environment.
The Gold Anchors Rating Scheme rates marinas according to an independent assessment of its infrastructure, planning and service.
The Clean Marina Program is an international, voluntary accreditation system for marinas, yacht clubs, boat clubs, slips, boatyards and associated industry operators. The program has been developed to support marine industries in its endeavours to protect our coastal and inland waterways.
The Value Study quantifies the economic and employment value of Australian marinas based on the data provided by marina operators.
