Marina Attendant

Course Information

The one day Marina Attendants course is a great stepping stone for people aged 15+ to enter into the marina industry. It meets the needs of young people wanting to gain experience and learn more about the industry. It also meets the needs of the industry by introducing young people to the career prospects and opportunities within the industry and the opportunity to train potential staff and existing staff. The course is delivered by Australia's leading Certified Marina Managers and Certified Marina Operators.

Course Content

Part of the one day course is spent in the classroom, and the rest of the day is spend outside getting hands on experience and practice.

  • Tieing up and letting go of boats
  • Giving berthing and dock support
  • Handling and moving boats
  • Inspecting the marina
  • Occupational health and safety
  • Pumping and giving fuel service
  • Sewage pump out systems
  • Customer Service
  • Safety and emergency procedures
  • Rope splicing
  • Power outlets, fire hoses, fenders, use of ropes
  • Looking after the environment

Prerequisites and Career Pathway

Anyone under the age of 18 are required to have their parents/guardian permission before participating in this course.

A boat licence is not a requirement of the course.

If you are aged 15+ this is a great course to gain an insight into the type of work and skills required in the marina industry. It is the best starting point to open doors to the opportunity to gain part-time or full-time work.

Course Fees

$195.00 (incl gst) per person

Fees include: course folder and presentation, learning materials, equipment and resources, morning and afternoon teas, lunch and marina tour.
