Marina Operators Course

Course Information

The Marina Operators Course leads onto the Certified Marina Operators Certification and is designed specifically for those who manage the daily operations of marinas under 100 berths/moorings or for those who are not in a full charge facility manager's role of a marina (i.e. Marina Operations Manager, Harbour Master).

Course Content

The 4.5 day residential course covers:

  • Building and Managing Winning Teams
  • Budgeting and Basic Accounting/Profit Centres
  • Fuel and Fueling Systems
  • Electrical Systems in your Marina
  • Marina Dock and Maintenance
  • Whats new in Customer Service and Hospitality
  • Managing your Facilities Risks
  • Management of Vendors and Outside Contractors
  • Retail Merchandising: Understanding marketing principals and demographics to achieve the right retail mix for your marina
  • Managing a Retail Tenancy

Prerequisites and Career Pathway

  • You must have completed the Intermediate Marina Management Course and
  • Had one years experience as a marina owner/operator or in a dockmaster position performing day-today onsite work in a marina

  • Owner/Operators of a small marina facility (under 100 vessels)
  • Or those who manage the daily operations of a marina but are not full charge

Course Fees

MIAA Members: $2995.00 (incl gst) per person

Non MIAA Members: $3750.00 (incl gst) per person

Fees include: Accommodation for 4 nights. Course learning materials, folder and presentations. Morning and afternoon teas, and lunches. 1 x evening dinner and welcome drinks. Marina tour.

Date and Registration

Registration opens 6 months before course commencement. Registration closes 4 weeks before course commencement.
