Course Information

Introducing the new industry leading Certificate III in Marina Operations.

This new course has been developed by the Marina Industry Association (MIA) in consultation with marinas as a result of a genuine industry need to provide formal skills in this dynamic and essential industry sector. If you have further questions concerning this course or you wish to have further information provided you are most welcome to contact Safety Corp or Marina Industries Association.

The course has been designed by industry to address the specific needs of Marinas. This is an entry level qualification designed to provide the core skills to work on a Marina.

There are two components to the traineeship:

  • On-the-job training – Practical learning in the workplace to gain skills and knowledge.
  • Off-the-job training – Formal training and assessment by Marine Skills in Practice. 17 Subjects must be completed as part of the training. Duration of both will vary according to subjects, student skills, knowledge, and experience. A clear training and assessment plan will be provided to both employers and assessors.

Both the student and employer will be supported by Marine Skills in Practice in setting on the job training programs and preparing for off the job training and assessment.

Safety Corp - Delivering RTO

Safety Corp is a Registered Training Organisation (No. 91694) that has partnered Marina Industries Association (MIA). They are accredited by ASQA to deliver the Certificate III Marina Operations and approved by the NSW and Queensland Government to offer Traineeships within NSW and Queensland. They offer exceptional employer and student support services to assist both groups to navigate the sometimes-tricky requirements of traineeship and apprenticeship applications.

Support to Employers and Trainees

Both the employer and trainee will have contact with two contacts within Safety Corp. The Safety Corp Traineeship Relationship team will appoint a single point of contact to assist both parties to understand responsibilities, define best outcomes and methods to achieve these outcomes through formal training, on the job training and workplace guidance and support to both parties. The appointed trainer will provide training and assessment and provide advice to employers as to key training assessment criteria that should be included during normal work to assist the trainee to satisfactorily complete the training.
